Why not keep the teddy theme with some of these simple recipes:
Teddy Sandwiches
Use a teddy shaped cookie cutter and cut 2 pieces of bread for each sandwich.
Create your teddy sandwiches using the child's favourite ingredients.
Place a few containers of raisins, grapes, etc on the table and have the children decorate their sandwich to look like a bear.
(You can always give a small prize for the best looking bear, ugliest, happiest, etc)
After they are finished ..... they can eat the sandwich.
Teddy Pizzas
Pitta bread (1 per pizza)
Tomato sauce
Mozzarella cheese, grated
Parmesan cheese, grated
Olives, sliced
Parsley, chopped
Cut pitta bread with cookie cutter into the shape of a teddy bear.
Top with tomato sauce and grated cheeses.
Place under grill until cheese melts (approximately 2 to 3 minutes)
or put in microwave for 45 to 60 seconds.
Top with olives and/or parsley.
Edible Honey Dough
Make this yummy honey dough which the kids can play with and then eat.
Half cup of smooth peanut butter
Quarter cup of honey
Half cup of instant non-fat dry milk powder
Mix the ingredients together to form a soft dough. Let the kids shape their own piece of dough, with their hands or by using cookie cutters. Decorate with raisins, seeds, chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc. Great fun then they can eat them all up!
Tasty Teddy Biscuits
100g Butter (at room temperature)
50g Caster Sugar
175g Plain Flour
Pinch of Salt
A few drops of Vanilla Essence
Edible Silver Balls
Licorice Laces or Thin Ribbon.
Pre-heat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas4.
Beat the butter and sugar together (by hand with a wooden spoon or in an electric mixer)
Sift together the flour and salt, and mix this into the butter mixture, together with a few drops of vanilla essence, to form a fairly stiff dough. If the dough is too dry, add a little water.
Form the dough into a ball, then roll out thinly (3-4mm) on a floured work surface using a rolling pin dusted with flour
Cut into teddy shapes using cookie cutters. Collect all the trimmings together and roll these out again to make more biscuits.
Add edible silver balls for eyes.
Bake for about 15 mins or until the biscuits are lightly golden.
Cool the biscuits on a wire rack.
To finish off, tie a licorice lace or a ribbon in a bow around the necks of the teddies
MAKES APPROX 20 BISCUITS.
Teddy Cakes
100g Soft Margarine
100g Caster Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
2 Eggs
100g Self Raising Flour
Chocolate Smarties
Jelly Tots
Chocolate Buttons
Black writing icing
Paper Cases
MAKES APPROX 12 CAKES

Pre-heat the oven to 350F/180C/Gas mark 4.
Put all the ingredients for the cakes into a bowl or food processor and beat together
until smooth. Spoon into paper cases and place these into the sections of a bun tray.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until well risen and the sponge springs back when you press
with your fingertips.
Decorate the cakes to look like Teddy Bears. Put a blob of black writing icing in the centre of the Smarties (to look like eyes) and attach these to the cakes with some more writing icing.
Add a Jelly Tot for the nose, and draw on a mouth using black writing icing.
Stick on chocolate buttons for the ears.
